Oh Boy! The Youngest is a stinker!
Boy oh boy! Our youngest (4 year old) is really being a little stinker the last few days. She is quite headstrong and usually one of the older siblings is able to gently guide her toward compliance. Usually.
I guess in order to fully understand what I am trying to write about here, I need to fill you in on our morning routine. (Everything we usually do before we head down the driveway to go to school.)
We begin to wake the three youngest about 6:00 a.m. We have found this gives us 50 minutes to have them eat breakfast, get dressed, and brush hair (ponytails and braids included) :)
We have it down to a precise routine.
Every morning it is the same.
Beautiful, wonderful routine.
Until this morning...
You see, recently I went through all of the clothes tubs in the basement and brought up the next size for each child. It is awesome to see the kids all excited about their 'new clothes.' :)
Our youngest was pleased as pickles to see all of the 'new' dresses and jumpers and tights to wear to preschool. She has been delighted to wear a different one each day last week.
Well... This morning I set out pants and a shirt. She was out of clean tights. She had worn her last pair to Church yesterday.
It started with just a look. She was taking her asthma treatment on the sofa and she saw the clothes I had set out for her. Just a look and I knew that we were in for quite a show.
And what a show it was!!!
Oh yeah, she pitched a good fit. The other children are so good at ignoring. At least for awhile.
She wanted to wear a dress and tights and I think the neighbors all knew it too.
Well, needless to say that little episode put a wrinkle into our otherwise normal, semi-quiet morning routine.
By the way, we made it to school just 6 minutes later then normal.
And... We still prayed our decade of the Rosary on the way to school. :)
Life is beautiful, isn't it?
Mary
Jesus, I trust in You!
